Description:
Mebendazole 100mg by Cipla is an anthelmintic (anti-worm) medication used to treat parasitic worm infections. It works by preventing the worms from absorbing glucose, ultimately leading to their death and elimination from the body.

Uses:

• Treatment of intestinal worm infections, including:
  • Pinworms (Enterobiasis)
  • Roundworms (Ascariasis)
  • Whipworms (Trichuriasis)
  • Hookworms (Ancylostomiasis & Necatoriasis)
• May also be used for other parasitic infections as prescribed by a doctor.

How It Works:
Mebendazole inhibits the worms’ ability to use glucose for energy, causing them to lose mobility and die. The dead worms are then naturally expelled through stool.

Dosage & Administration:

• Adults & Children (above 2 years):
  • For pinworm infections: Single 100mg dose, may repeat after 2 weeks if needed.
  • For other worm infections: 100mg twice daily for 3 days.
• Can be taken with or without food.
• Chewable or swallowed whole with water.

Precautions:

• Not recommended for children under 2 years without medical advice.
• Use with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women.
• Avoid alcohol while taking this medication.
• Inform your doctor if you have liver disease or are taking other medications.

Side Effects:
